MANIFESTO & DEMANDS OF THE VIETNAMESE TO THE COMMUNIST PARTY REGIME IN VIETNAM

MANIFESTO & DEMANDS OF THE VIETNAMESE TO THE COMMUNIST PARTY REGIME IN VIETNAM

MANIFESTO

- April 30th, 2011 will mark 36 painful years that the Vietnamese Communist Party (VCP) has enslaved Vietnam.

- One of the five remaining communist countries in the world in 2011, the VCP dictatorial regime is a brutal, ruthless, corrupted and inhuman regime.

- The VCP imprisoned millions of Vietnamese without formal charges. Hundreds of thousand people died in the so-called “re-education camps.”

- The entire country has suffered poverty, famine, diseases and intolerable oppression.

- Millions fled the country by sea and land, most died in their search for freedom and liberty. The inhuman treatment of the boat-people reached international crisis level in the 80’s.

- International financial investment since the 90’s only widens the gap between the rich and the poor due to the deep corruption embedded in the entire system. The corrupted VCP government and their cohorts are obscenely wealthy, whereas the rest of Vietnam remains in severe poverty.

- The VCP gives up land and sea territories to the "People’s Republic of China". Mining, deforestation and Mekong Delta water deprivation are some of the mostly irreversible destructions of the environment by the combined effort of Vietnam and China’s regimes.

- There is degradation of all social institutions in Vietnam.

- There is infinite and blatant oppression of civil rights, human rights and political rights in Vietnam.

- There is an unacceptable proliferation of human trafficking of women and children to prostitution and sex labor around the world, and forced hard labor of men sent to developed countries.

- There is disrespect for the freedom of religion as any form of religion is under complete control of the regime.

- The VCP tightly and totally controls media/press as well as any organizations or institutions in Vietnam.

- Sham justice system that operates on vague and variable interpretations of the law not according to international practices. Father Nguyen Van Ly was muzzled at his own trial.

THE ONLY IMMEDIATE SOLUTION:

FREEDOM, DEMOCRACY AND HUMAN RIGHTS FOR VIETNAM

---

DEMANDS OF THE VIETNAMESE TO THE COMMUNIST PARTY REGIME IN VIETNAM

1. There must be unconditional and immediate release of all political prisoners and prisoners of conscience in Vietnam.

2. Full restoration of civil rights of former political prisoners and prisoners of conscience. Call on the Vietnamese Regime to cease all harassment and persecution of political dissidents, human rights activists and democracy defenders.

3. To urge the Vietnamese Regime to issue standing invitation to the UN HRC’s Special Rapporteurs on the issues of freedom of religion, freedom of expression and information, torture, death penalty, human trafficking, and violence against women and children.

4. To call on the Vietnamese Regime to establish an independent national human rights institution in compliance with the UN HRC’s guidelines and regulations.

5. To call on the Vietnamese Regime to meet the challenge on human rights befitting the role of a chair of ASEAN this year and as a member of the new Human Rights Commission Body within ASEAN.

6. To urge for semi-annual US-VN and EU-VN bilateral human rights dialogue with bilateral reports on specific measures and implementation of human rights protection. Regarding negotiations on bilateral trade agreements or financial support, human rights must be an integral part of any agreement. The privilege of Generalized System of Preference and similar privileges can be considered on conditions of measureable human rights protection including acts to promote freedom of religion, freedom of expression, freedom of press and information, and freedom of assembly.

7. To call on the Vietnamese to demand for their human rights, civil rights and political rights.

8. To call on the Vietnamese to demand free and fair elections of a multi-party system government under the supervision of the United Nations’ regulatory body.

9. To call on the Vietnamese to stand up for freedom, democracy and human rights for Vietnam.

10. To call on the Vietnamese to form a united front to stop the expansion and invasion of the "People’s Republic of China" into Vietnam and its territories.

Vietnam shall be free!

Dr. Nguyen Dan Que's Call for Mass Demonstrations in Vietnam

Dr. Nguyen Dan Que's Call for Mass Demonstrations in Vietnam

Dr. Nguyen Dan Que is at it again. He's been arrested and imprisoned three times in past 35 years. Text of Dr. Que's recent appeal is here, first in Tieng Viet, with English version following. This will be viewed as incendiary by Hanoi Communist Party, quite probably apprehensive over recent developments in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya. Dr. Que will no doubt be arrested and detained again.

Dr. Que's profile here:

http://www.rallyingfordemocracy.org/blog_view_6_Who-is-Dr--Nguyen-Dan-Que.html

Dear Vietnamese Compatriots,

Let’s stand up, hold our heads high, and proclaim: Freedom or Servitude!

Let’s take to the streets and put an end to dictatorship, corruption, and nepotism. Take back our rights to work, to live free, to receive medical care, etc. No more oppression and injustice. Farmers, take back your land; workers, take back your dignity!

We want a fair society in which everyone is guaranteed fundamental human rights such as freedom of information, freedom of expression, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, freedom of Internet access, freedom of movement, freedom of commerce, and freedom of assembly and association for political plurality. And the freedom to choose the right leaders of the nation!

Our Nation is indeed in peril!

The politburo of the Vietnamese Communist Party and its despotic State have sold out our land and sea territories. Vietnam’s sovereignty is under tremendous threat!

The politburo have also driven the nation to the brink of bankruptcy through waste, fraud, abuse, and ineffective investments. Corrupt cadres and officials enrich themselves while the majority of the Vietnamese people remain very poor. Now, the prices of utilities increase every day: electricity and gas prices are going through the roof; yet the value of the currency has devalued greatly! Meanwhile, workers’ wages have not kept up with inflation and many workers who toil from sunrise to sunset still cannot support themselves.

Discontent is suppressed. Protest receives imprisonment. The top rulers like Nguyen Phu Trong and Nguyen Tan Dung resort to police violence at every opportunity to crush dissent. Their blatant lies about the conditions of the nation are piling up!

Let’s rise up to take back our freedoms and defend the fatherland!

Let’s take to streets to dismantle the politburo! People power can no longer be denied!

The young Vietnamese, with smart use of the Internet, cell phones, and text messaging, or many means available, should take the lead in mobilizing friends, associates, relatives, and family members to take advantage of the democracy movements in Africa and the Middle East. Assemble for demonstrations. Millions of Vietnamese will show up for a free Vietnam.

We shall be resolute in dismantling this communist dictatorship in order to rebuild a new Vietnam with freedom, democracy, and progress.

Let’s take to the streets to take back our land!

Let’s take to the streets to save the nation!

Let’s adopt the following nimble strategy: Converge at squares or open locales in big cities like Ha noi, Hai phong, Hue, Da nang, Can tho. If police are violent, disperse; if police sparse, assemble. And demand freedom! Say “No to Tyranny”!

Dr. Nguyen Dan Que
Call for Mass Demonstrations to Dismantle Tyranny.

Support the Jasmine Revolution in Vietnam

Support the Jasmine Revolution in Vietnam.

Please walk together for a Free Vietnam.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Only within two months the people of Tunisia and Egypt freed themselves from shackles of the dictators. People of Libya are also winning major victories in their beloved hometowns. With courage, with determination of the people, the solid dictatorships once seemed indestructable were collapsed.

In the storm of democracy and human rights, the communist Vietnam is no exception and can not be an exception. This is a chance for Vietnamese people to break away from dictatorship, without paying the expensive blood.

We earnestly call for Students, Youths, and all Vietnamese gather to walk for our country. The program is very simple as follows:

- In Hanoi: Walk around Hoan Kiem Lake. Walk alone or in small groups such as exercising. At first, do not express anything, just walk and look at each other, try to understand each other.

- In Saigon: Walk along Le Loi Boulevard from Ben Thanh Market to the building of old Ha Vien. Just go alone or in small groups like to go shopping, to gather more and more crowd.

In those two areas, normally there are many pedestrians, Vietnam and foreigners. The VC polices should arrest the walkers for any reason. We keep patiently walking daily to gather the crowd. Once we have the masses, we will have the power, our voices will be heard and we will start demanding the legitimate rights for the people of Vietnam.

- Overseas: Walk around the Embassy, Consulate General of Vietnamese Communist court with the slogans: "Freedom for Vietnam", "Democracy for Vietnam", "VC step down", "Tear down communism" .. . Just 2 to 10 people walking to show those signs and take turns walking again and again every day. The march is a continuous strong spiritual support for domestic, alert conscience and the attention around the world.

Ladies and gentlemen,

The Vietnamese communist dictators, who are betraying and selling our country away must get off our people back. Only we can save the country, our nation. Following the global wave of freedom and democracy, this is a greatest opportunity that we can remove the communist dictator shackles, to build a democratic and free country.

We respectfully ask you to support our call by turning this letter to many people and encourage your friends and relatives come together, walking for the Vietnamese homeland.

Sincerely thank you,

Youths for Democracy Vietnam.

Joe Hamilton:
A special thanks to the lovely people that came from different places in Germany to Walk For Jigme Norbu la!! Sherab la, Evi, Nhan, Karma, Dolma, Sonam and Tsering Norbu ! It was really cold and very tempting to just stay in but the Rangzen... fire kept us warm !
It is always a pleasure to spend time DOING something in the real world and I think that was also Jigme la´s message !

FB and the internet generally are great things and it is so important that we continue to share information and thought and ideas !

But we must continue to DO in the real world coz we need that fresh air for our brains and hearts !

It´s great to make a real connection with real people...you can´t beat it !
Like Tibetans inside Tibet...they are REAL people and not some abstract thought or dream.

We have to do real things for them !

Jigme Norbu la was a real man and a very intelligent man ! He knew what he was walking for and why he was walking !

This will not be the last walk that we will do because we saw, as we did in 2008, how the people react when they see REAL Tibetans walking peacefully for their Cause !

It is always a very special experience that we Hamiltons fully appreciate and enjoy to have the honour to walk with Tibetans !

Love and respect...Free Tibet !
